His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.
- Matthew 25:23 (NKJV).
The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step, so says the popular adage. Good journeys begin and end with movement or steps in the right direction.
There are daily steps we must take to hear the words 'Well done, my good and faithful servant' at the end of our lives here on earth. The first of these is a decision to accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Saviour. This is the foundational step which we all need to take.
Then, we must commit to reading the Word daily to grow in our newfound faith. This will help us to know what He stands for in our lives and what He has done for us.
The church family we join will propel us further on this journey. Your church family will stand with and encourage, push, propel and support you every step of the way. In church, you will learn how to walk in love and grow up in Christ.
Finally, you will become a disciple who will also go out and point others to the right steps they need to take to stand firm in the faith.
At some point in this journey, you ‘step’ out of this earth suit and stand right before the King Himself. Will His words be ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant?’
Beloved, take the right steps starting from today so you can hear those comforting words in the end, as you enter into His joy.
