PEACE THAT PASSES UNDERSTANDING

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)

In the world, many people are looking for peace and will often do strange things to find it. People try to find peace in achievements, material possessions and other people, but unfortunately, peace in such things is temporary.

Peace that is not founded on Christ is not true peace and can never last because Jesus is the Prince of Peace and He is also eternal. When you allow the Prince of Peace to truly take control of your life, He will guard your heart and mind in all things. He will do this by insulating your heart so that the things that would ordinarily disturb and distract others will not get to you. He will also remove worry and anxiety from your mind so that you can fully function in a state of harmony.

Jesus, while He was on earth, was so yielded to the Father that He constantly operated in a state of perfect peace, which was why He could sleep in a storm. And He told us that the same works that He did, we would also do and even greater works (John 14:12). If He did it, so can we!

No matter the ferocity of the storms of life we face, we can always find peace in Jesus. We can depend on Him to garrison our hearts and minds so that those challenges and trials that will come to us will not wreck us. This kind of peace that He gives not only guards us, but it also refreshes our soul.

Beloved, pray in the Holy Spirit today and watch as His peace insulates, guards and refreshes your soul.
