BORN OF THE SPIRIT (PART 1)

October 20:2020

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.
John 3:6-8 (NKJV)

`

To be truly saved means to be born of the Spirit of God; this means that the Holy Spirit is actually the 'parent' to all believers! The implication is that all children of God have properties that can be likened to those of the Holy Spirit.

For instance, the movement and impact that are characteristic of those born of the Spirit are likened in this scripture to the movement and impact of natural wind on the earth. You see, the wind's movement is a picture of the ways that the Holy Spirit leads and guides His children.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God” (Romans 8:14).

Those who haven’t been born of the Spirit usually do not understand these ways; they hear our sound but do not understand the reason or motivation behind our actions. Furthermore, we are to impact our world on a community, national and global level just like the wind impacts the earth whenever it blows.

The words of Jesus in our key scripture suggest that our generation can feel our impact without necessarily seeing us; this is in reference to our prayer lives as children of God. Those born of the Spirit have the capacity to generate the mighty moving force of the Holy Spirit right from their prayer closets. Through our faith-filled prayers we, in essence, give God the liberty and license to turn the hearts of people in our favour and away from evil thus bringing about a positive shift in our nation.

Beloved, I prophesy that God will use you on a community, national and global level; He will take you to the ends of the earth! Because you are born of the Spirit, your life is about to make a significant impact in this generation. Amen!
