“Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” – 1 Peter 2:17 (NKJV)
1 Peter 2:17 (NKJV)

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God . . . If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? – 1 John 4:7, 20 (NKJV)

We are not just to love each other as Christians, but we are also to love the very concept of love. We are to love our unity; we are to love the brotherhood. We are to love the fraternity – this goes just beyond us loving the other person; it means we should go out of our way to protect the flow among us. If we see someone or something trying to destroy that love, we should stand against and stop it because we must love, support and help one another. If we do not love the brotherhood, we cannot effectively love the brother.

We should be very eager to help one another. Our focus should be more on giving than on taking. Love will make us behave well despite the other party's behaviour. Love puts the responsibility on us. The Bible enjoins us to cover one another with love. “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8).

When we allow the Spirit of God to flow in us, we will love right. He will let us know when we are supposed to draw back from someone. As we grow in love, we will grow in wisdom. There are a perfecting and a maturity that come when we love that cannot be gotten any other way. People that don’t walk in love are children because the mark of adulthood in Christendom is love.

God needs us to walk in love as His children because that is the only way the world will know that we are Christians; it is not by what we say but by what we do and our fruits that show.  By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).

Beloved, one of the main signs of transformation is love. Commit to loving others truly from your heart as from today. That is the kingdom of God!
