Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV)

It is the will of God for us to give Him thanks in everything. We give thanks in everything, not for everything because we know that some things were not brought upon us by God. But we are to give Him thanks in those adverse situations because we know that He is able to bring us out of them.

Nothing bad comes from God. Every good and perfect gift comes from above. We give God thanks not for the trial the enemy has brought but for the victory that will follow that trial and the way of escape that he will make for us. The bible tells us that with the temptation he makes a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13); this means that inside your temptation the way to escape has already been provided.

So you can give God thanks in any situation; you can be battered, bruised and broken, but still give God thanks because you know it is a temporary season and you will come out strong. When you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, just walk through the valley and not build a camp in there. The Lord is your shepherd and you will not lack any good thing. He is taking you through it, so give Him thanks.

The three Hebrew boys, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, showed us how to be in the fire and still give thanks. They were walking up and down in the fiery furnace giving thanks to God and by the time they came out, there was no smell of fire on them (Daniel 3:1-30).

Beloved, God is about to shine you up so well in 2020, so that when people see you, they won’t know you have been through some fire. He will make ways for you where you need them. Amen!
