“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”
1 Chronicles 16:34 (NKJV)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16 (NKJV)

As a believer, we have reasons to thank God. First, we are saved. At one time we were citizens of satan’s kingdom, bound with satanic chains, but Jesus showed up, went to cross, died and resurrected; He smashed those chains. He did not only bring us out but also translated us into God’s Kingdom. This means you have peace with God and when we go to heaven, street of gold, gates of pearls, glory unspeakable will all be waiting for us.

Sometimes, we are looking for what to thank God for and we neglect the obvious. It took the power of God to make us His children. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12). We are products of God’s power, full of the Holy Ghost. God lives in us, and Christ in us is the hope of glory. This gives you an undaunted assurance that it is well with us. He is still the same God, He has not changed. So, we are to thank Him for showing us His goodness by making us His children.

A thankless life will stop the flow of God’s Spirit. When we are thankless, we transcend into grumbling, bitterness and dissatisfaction, and by this, we quench the flow of the Spirit. But a thankful heart enhances the flow of the Spirit.

Beloved, start to thank God based on the truth of His word. He is a good God and you will experience more of His goodness if you maintain a thankful heart in every season of your life.
