FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT (PART 2)

June 13:2019

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing,” – 1 Timothy 6:12-14 (NKJV)
1 Timothy 6:12-14

`

The good fight of faith must not be viewed as a lifelong struggle to overcome the forces of evil, but rather as an easy and exciting practice of exercising dominion over every opposition in one’s life.

The words of Jesus Christ give us a very clear summary of what our fight of faith should be like; He focuses on resting, as opposed to struggling, in describing the believer’s life of faith. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30).

Brethren, the truth is that we can only maintain the victory of Christ in our lives from the position of rest; if we are anxious, frustrated and discouraged, then we are fighting a bad fight! You see, if there is a good fight then it follows that there must be a bad fight.

The “rest of God” must become our main objective in life and the ultimate goal of our spiritual warfare. In other words, we are to labour, fight and do all that we can to enter into and stay in this place of God’s rest every day of our lives.

Child of God, stop struggling and start resting! The place of rest is the place of the finished redemptive work of Christ. I prophesy that you are about to enjoy unprecedented victory in every aspect of your life this year as you determine to start resting in Jesus. Amen!

Prayer & Confession of Faith

Only Jesus gives true rest. I will cling to Him and experience the ‘easy’ and ‘light’. I will rest in His finished work and I enjoy all the blessings He has for me. Amen!
