And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2 (NKJV)

Home renovation can be a very expensive venture especially when you have to break down walls and throw out good, but unwanted, furniture. The beautiful thing about renovations is that you will get a ‘new’ home and furniture, and the feeling of newness and freshness can affect your creativity!

If you never improve or renovate a house, it is only a question of time before it becomes dilapidated, run down and very unwelcoming.

The mind can be compared to a house. It is important that we ‘tend’ it like we would a home, keep it clean, fixed and trash-free. The mind is maintained by the Word; it is renovated by actively removing and replacing wrong thinking. We identify wrong thinking by seeing what the Bible says and comparing this to what we ‘understand’.

Once you see that what you understand or assume is different from the Word, you are to renovate your mind by removing or disbelieving what is contrary to the Word and aligning yourself to what it says, as the final authority.

This process is also called renewing of your mind and it takes time as a home renovation. Renewing your mind is an intentional process and a very important one, as your thinking really does create your world. We are the results of our thought patterns. Right thinking leads to right believing, right living and right results.

Beloved, be very intentional about what you think about and what you allow to come into your mind. It pays huge dividends and causes your life to change in ways that are simply unprecedented.

Prayer & Confession of Faith

I will be intentional about the things I allow into my mind this year. I will renovate my mind and cause it to line up with what the Word of God says about me. Amen!
