But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
Proverbs 4:18 (NKJV)

In June 2018, a football team of twelve teenage boys was trapped in a cave in Thailand. The international community came together to rescue these children and by the grace of God, they all came out alive.

There were images on the television showing how dark, dingy and dangerous the tunnel they were trapped in was, and we can only imagine how these children longed and waited to see the bright lights from the lamps of the rescue teams! They were rescued after 18 days.

For us as believers, Jesus rescued us from the grip of sin and death over 2,000 years ago. This happened on the cross, at His death, burial and resurrection. However, as we live and walk on this earth, we sometimes get to points where we feel trapped in a dark tunnel or discouraged about our circumstances.

But our light source is not just external, but also internal. We have the Holy Ghost who gives us directions and guidance from our born again human spirits and we have the word of God which is a lamp unto our feet. Therefore, when we have an internal light source as well as an external source it will only be a question of time before our paths or way of life shines brighter and brighter – things will begin to look up!

Child of God, the light that surrounds you can never be quenched. It does not matter how ‘dark’ you feel your situation is, if you stay with the leading of the Holy Spirit and the authority of the Word you will come out shining.

Old things have passed away." Amen.
