The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.
Proverbs 10:22 (NKJV)

The operation of The Blessing of the Lord in our lives goes beyond the enlargement of our territories; it also makes us rich and then ensures that we enjoy a sorrow-free life along with the riches. God wants us rich and happy, not rich and sad.

The word ‘sorrow’, as it is used in this verse, literally means “pain, hurt, toil and hardship”. You see, some people have a lot of riches but they have it in combination with sickness, catastrophes, fears, uncertainties and a guilty conscience. Such people are unable to truly enjoy their riches in the midst of all these other distractions.

To avoid a life of sorrow in the midst of plenty, we must repent of the desire and practice of chasing riches outside of God’s blessing. God is full of mercy and will always forgive us our sins and shortcomings, but then we must follow up our repentance by putting our total trust in Him as our only source.

Our Heavenly Father is well-able to bless us beyond measure and ensure that we enjoy and live in the riches of His kingdom as we learn to rest in His faithfulness and promises. I have seen so many people experience this sorrow-free blessed kind of life, including myself, for anyone to convince me otherwise.

Beloved, you and your children will enjoy the riches of our Lord’s Blessing in your generation! Your portion will always be that of joy in the midst of plenty and never of sorrow. Amen!
