March 15:2018

As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.
Acts 13:2

When we cultivate the lifestyle of seeking God continually, we will find ourselves transitioning into a position where we are not just receiving from Him, but we are also giving to Him.

When we have been in God’s presence, being abundantly ministered to and refreshed by His Spirit, we, at some point, will spontaneously tend to minister back to Him from our hearts. As we experience more and more intimacy with God and start getting revelations of His majesty, His might and His love, it will be difficult not to be overwhelmed by the realization of His goodness. It will be difficult not to respond to Him in love which is primarily expressed by giving - giving of our time, our money, our effort and most importantly our heart in worship.

The Greek word that is translated "ministered" in the above-mentioned verse can also be translated as "worship", and implies receiving a service at one's own cost. You see, when we minister to God, the initiative is on us to make the sacrifice that is required to direct the fruit of our lips at Him; speaking or singing words of praise and adoration often with the lifting up of hands. At such times, we are to focus our attention and affection on Him, magnifying His Name(s), His office and His works; we are to express our appreciation to Him for all His faithfulness in our lives.

Whenever we minister to the Lord, our spiritual and mental channel of consciousness between Him and us becomes wide open, making it easier to hear from Him.

Prayer & Confession of Faith

Daily, as I minister to the Lord, He speaks clearly to me and gives me instructions and guidance for every day. Thank you, Father, for showing me exactly where to go and what to do as I step out today. Show me the work that you have called me to do. Amen!
