September 23:2018

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.
Matthew 28:16-20 (NKJV)

There is no doubt that Jesus has delegated all the authority that was given to Him to the church. In other words, He has transferred the highest rights of dominion to the church, which is His body. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all (Ephesians 1:22-23).

Remember that the head and the body are actually one unit; the body is a joint heir with the head. Therefore, if Jesus, as the head, has all authority, then it follows that the church, which is the body, has the exact same authority.

However, there is a big difference between authority received and authority established, and this is where most Christians miss it. They assume that their delegated authority will work automatically simply because they have it, not realising that it is essentially useless until it is exercised. Authority must be persistently, uncompromisingly and boldly exercised until it is finally established in the relevant areas of our individual and corporate lives.

  1. Authority is established in three ways:
You must confront every foe, adversary, challenge and fear
  2. Resist every mental and physical assault or contention
  3. Dominate the territory or your sphere of influence

To achieve these, we must use our words authoritatively to command all of creation according to our desires in the will of God. Our words are our primary tools of spiritual warfare and dominion.

Beloved, take authority immediately over every area of contention or struggle in your life! Open your mouth and start commanding everything around you to work together in your favour and for your good; start resisting every assault and dominating your territory.

Prayer & Confession of Faith

I take authority over every area of my life. I take authority over my health, my husband/wife, my home, my children, my business, my ministry, my workplace, my properties and my finances. I command all things to line up in my favour starting from today. Amen!
