September 14:2018

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Genesis 3:6 (NKJV)

We can see from today’s opening text that Eve captured the imagination that the devil threw at her with his words. She saw that the fruit was good for food with her mind’s eye, that is, in her imagination, before she ate the fruit. The devil succeeded in giving her a wrong mental picture. The truth is that Adam and Eve already had wisdom from God because they were created in God’s image, but the devil deceived her into believing otherwise, which eventually led to the fall of man when Adam acted in disobedience to God’s instruction and also ate the fruit.

As believers, we need to pay more attention to what is going on in our minds. You are the ones that will determine the manifestations you experience in your life through what you allow in your mind (mental space). You should be in control of your mind and not the other way around. When you capture the thoughts the devil throws at you in your mind, you open the door to its negative manifestations in your life. Therefore, you must reject contrary thoughts and capture thoughts from God to open the door to Godly manifestations in your life.

First, you need to admit and acknowledge that you own your mind. That space belongs to you and you must take charge of it. A pilot will not leave the cockpit of his plane for a trespasser to gain control, neither will the captain of a ship hand over his ship’s rudder to an intruder. Similarly, no nation will allow another nation to invade its territory without a fight; they will guard their territory jealously and fight off invading enemies. In the same vein, you must guard your mind and not allow the enemy to invade your mental space.

Secondly, you must understand that your mind cannot exist in a vacuum, which means you must always replace negative thoughts with thoughts that are in line with the realities of Christ. The devil will always bring thoughts of worry, confusion, and fear; he will try to attack your identity, your position and your capacity in Christ. You must refuse to think on those things; reject the thoughts and take up your shield of faith which is the Word of God by speaking.

Beloved, the Holy Spirit will put a word in your spirit regarding that challenging situation; take up the shield, speak out those words and use it to change the narrative of every challenging situation.

Prayer & Confession of Faith

I control my mind; my mind does not control me. I cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and I bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. I have the mind of Christ. Hallelujah!
