TRUTH VS FACTS

September 13:2018

Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.“ And His disciples heard it. So they came to Jerusalem…
Mark 11:12-15 (NKJV)

Let us imagine what could have been going through the minds of the disciples just after Jesus cursed the fig tree. Nothing seemed to have happened to the tree after the pronouncement – humanly and physically speaking. Some may have expected the tree to wither immediately the word was spoken, but it appears like nothing happened in the moments that passed just before they continued their journey to Jerusalem. It was not until the next day that the disciples saw that the fig tree had dried up from the roots. Even though the facts still looked the same when Jesus spoke those words, the truth was that the situation had changed in the spiritual realm, and it was only a matter of time before the physical manifestation showed up.

A lot of believers still find themselves caught in a place where they will only believe God’s word to be true after they have seen physical changes or manifestations. The reverse should be the case because in God’s kingdom, believing is seeing. Jesus told Thomas, Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed (John 20:29). The facts of the situation right now may be that you are feeling sick, or that you are broke, but God’s word says you are healed (Isaiah 53:5; 1Peter 2:24), and that you are rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). It does not matter what the facts say; facts are subject to change. But God’s truth is eternal; it never changes. Truth superimposes God’s word on facts.

Brethren, let this consciousness remain in you, that whatever God has not said concerning your life is just a mirage; it’s false evidence appearing real. Build this consciousness in your spirit by meditating on God’s word daily. Speak God’s truth and believe the potency of your words. Do not be ignorant of the devil’s devices because he uses facts and lies to discourage believers from believing God’s word.

Beloved, make up your mind to choose the truth of God’s word over facts and you will surely see your desired physical manifestations. In Jesus name, Amen!

Prayer & Confession of Faith

I believe the truth of God’s word over every contrary situation, condition or circumstance. I am not moved by what I see; I am moved by the word of God. I am more than a conqueror. I am an overcomer. I win always. Hallelujah!
