By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust
2 Peter 1:4 (NKJV)

A promise is a declaration that something will or will not be done. People can give promises of what they would or would not do; some strive to honour, emphasising that their word is their bond! People, however, are limited in their abilities, naturally so. No wonder in the business world, companies declare Force Majeure - unforeseeable circumstances that prevent someone from fulfilling a contract. So legally, Force Majeure is built into contracts, because of the act of a superior force that can counteract the best-laid plans of men.

Now, would it not be wise to then stand on the promises of one who is not bound to be a Force Majeure, whose hand (the hand of God) is what is invariably referred to by that term. Would it not be assuring for you to take hold of the promises of Him who has called you into the realm of the divine nature and from whose purview all men seek the ultimate assurance?

Beloved, the Lord has laid before you exceedingly great and precious promises. Why not take time to study His word, fill your heart with these precious promises and tell the Lord as He stated: ‘God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do? Or has he spoken, and will He not make it good?’(Numbers 23:19)

Prayer & Confession of Faith

Standing on the promises I cannot fall, listening every moment to the Spirit’s call, resting in my Savior as my all in all, standing on the promises of God. So let it be! I receive the strength to stand on Your promises. Amen.
