July 28:2018

I will make your pinnacles of rubies, your gates of crystal, and all your walls of precious stones. All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children. In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.

How well are you leaving your mark? You may have looked far and wide, and have taken stock of the positives and the not-so-fantastic aspects of your life! Often, evaluations like these lead to a measurement or assessment of one's performance in life so far.

In determining performance, one should evaluate one's alignment with God's standard. Consider your current positioning and standard, the revelation of God’s standard for you, as well as closing any gap that exists. Jesus was a standard raised by God and sent to the world to bring deliverance and salvation. Through Jesus, the church was raised as a standard. Each Christian has been raised to a standard, and collectively, the church is to become a formidable force.

Like Jesus, be raised as God’s standard in whatever field of endeavour or place you find yourself. Ultimately, God desires to raise you as a standard for His work on earth. So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun;
When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19-21). You are to walk in dominion on earth as God’s standard.

On a practical level, as grace abounds, you have a responsibility to groom yourself. Aspire to attain that standard and seek God’s help in accomplishing it. In aspiring and closing the gap, be mindful of shortcuts! The end does not justify the means. Take the path of integrity and dignity. Stay humble and visibly prudent in the use of resources placed in your care. At your place of work, live up to that standard. Be diligent with tasks assigned to you. At all times and in all things, desire to please God above all else.

Beloved, reflect on what God’s standard is for you. He desires to make your pinnacles of rubies, and gates of crystals! Leave nothing to chance or trend! Prayerfully seek God’s guidance as to where he would desire that you should be. You are special. You are God’s standard.

Prayer & Confession of Faith

Raise me, O Lord, to be the standard you desire in my family, place of work, community and church. Let me be an example to all; because of the standard you have set through me, let many be drawn to You. Thank you, Jesus. Amen!
