Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited.
Isaiah 54:2-3 (NKJV)

As long as we are here on earth, we will always be presented with opportunities for promotion, provision, wealth creation, networking, collaboration, and all forms of advancement. God is working overtime to present us with fresh and new opportunities and it is our responsibility not to get distracted and miss them, but to harness and maximize.

An author and motivational speaker shared his personal story of being labelled as a child with a learning disability. He, however, met a teacher who encouraged him not to believe other people’s opinion of him. He told the teacher what he wanted to become in life, and the teacher advised him to keep practising every day. His teacher told him that it is better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one, than to have an opportunity and not be prepared for it. Without college training and with the stigma of being labelled as someone with a learning disability, the young man developed himself and began applying for jobs. He was turned back a couple of times, but he persisted and eventually, an unexpected opportunity presented itself. Today, he is a renowned author and speaker amongst many other achievements.

You can’t maximize any opportunity if you are not prepared for it. God will not be eager to present you with an opportunity if He feels you are not ready for it. Peter, as a fisherman, could have been better prepared for the big catch of fish if he had more boats and stronger nets ready.

Beloved, no matter where you are in life right now, you should avoid procrastination and idleness; develop yourself, learn new skills, widen your business network, receive mentoring and much more. You will be better positioned to maximize your God-given opportunities and potential.
