Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us…If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can [a]he love God whom he has not seen?
1 John 4:11-12, 20 (NKJV)

You can recognize an aeroplane or a bus because you have seen them before. The same way, you may recognize what a person from a different continent looks like because you have probably seen similar people on TV, online or in a book.

It is not unexpected for new Christians to wonder what God looks like. This was a deep mystery for the Egyptians when the children of Israel were held captive within their territory. It stretched their imagination to the point of possible exhaustion to understand how the Israelites worshipped a God they could not see. Indeed, many century-old myths have been developed to answer the compelling story of creation.

This curiosity takes root when people who do not understand our faith have to contemplate and understand how we relate to God. The answer lies in Jesus! Jesus came to reveal God to us. Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high (Hebrews 1:3).

Likewise, we reveal Jesus Christ to our neighbours and our community by expressing God's love for them. As a Christian, show love and care to people. A new commandment I give to you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another (John 13:34-35).

Dear child of God, yearn for God to reveal Himself to you. Desire and steadfastly maintain a bond with him that no force from hell can break. Let your relationship with God be one devoid of uncertainty. You are His and He is your God.
