July 04:2018

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)

The United Nations has earmarked 5th of June every year, as World Environment Day. The 2018 theme was ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’. On that day, the United Nations raised awareness and sought solutions to the growing menace of environmental degradation due to the use of plastics and other waste materials. Plastic is generally not biodegradable and can take between 400 to 1000 years to decompose in landfills. People everywhere are therefore encouraged to recycle and reduce the amount of plastic used. The overall objective is to keep our earth sustainable so humans can safely exist on the earth.

Our bodies exist to embody our spirits and God’s presence. We are to care for our bodies, in order to remain strong, healthy and able to fulfil our purpose as destined by God. One cannot have a diet of junk food and expect to be healthy for very long. The junk food diet will show up in poor health!

Our minds are to be clear and free from toxic thoughts that would derail us from the path of honour. The Bible tells us what kind of thoughts to dwell on in order to avoid having a polluted life. If you consciously think on things that are pure, true or praiseworthy, you will produce similar kinds of actions in your life. What you meditate on will be manifested through your actions.

People commonly confess that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. It is time to bring the flesh under the subjection of the Holy Spirit. It is time to address all the destructive sensual pleasures that the flesh is keen on consuming. Review your lifestyle. Check the status of those habits that are taking you away from serving God in spirit and in truth. Fight off addictions and wanton desires.

Child of God, be mindful of what you watch, listen to and think about, to stay pollution free! He who loves purity of heart, and has grace on his lips, the king will be his friend. (Proverbs 22:11 (NKJV)

Prayer & Confession of Faith

It is time to think right, speak right and eat right. It is time to live right. To you, O Lord, the giver of life, I turn for help. I present my body to you, my Lord, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable, which is my reasonable service.
