Dominion over Sin

June 30:2018

Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression.
Psalm 19:13 (NKJV)

David prayed to God to deliver him from sin. At the time he made that supplication, the devil had taken dominion and sin had reared its monstrous head on earth. It was a dire situation requiring David to cry out to the Lord. God, being merciful, heard David's cry and delivered him from the torment of sin. Centuries later, Jesus came and delivered us from the snare of the enemy. He died on the cross and took the keys of life and death, leaving the devil with no power whatsoever!

Today, you have the power to live in dominion over sin. To attain this, you must first believe Jesus as your Lord and saviour, then have faith that you have been delivered by Jesus Christ. His grace abounds and you now have a new nature! For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, you have a nature-transplant, which means that God took away our old nature (the old man) and made you the righteousness of God in Christ (the new man). You do not just have righteousness; you are righteousness as long as you are in Him! Hallelujah! Henceforth, sin no longer has dominion over you. This is good news!

You must awaken to the realities of this covenant and develop a strong consciousness of your new nature. Whatever consciousness you have will dictate your lifestyle. Rather than proclaim that you are a sinner saved by grace, your confession should be that you are a born-again Christian saved by grace and walking in righteousness. You must become aware that as the righteousness of God, you have absolute dominion over sin! Sin cannot rule over you anymore. Hallelujah!

Beloved, as a child of God, sin no longer has dominion over you. Declare it always and it shall be so. Amen!
