Promotion is from God

June 17:2018

And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority. So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field.
Genesis 39:3-5 (NKJV)

We all love recognition and promotion. Man generally craves power and respect from others. When we are not recognised for our achievements, it leaves a strange feeling within us and makes us feel lower than we really are. But God has a system He has created for each of us to get the recognition and promotion we desire. It is through service – to His work and to other people. God rewards faithful service! He will promote you and the entire world will see your shine.

Joseph was faithful and loyal in his service to his master. In the end, God blessed him abundantly in spite of the many arduous roads he had to pass through. Another example of someone who offered faithful service was Apostle Paul. He was faithful to his calling and God promoted him. We read his epistles every day. That is promotion!

Martin Luther King, Jr. is quoted as saying that, “Everybody can be great . . . because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, and a soul generated by love.” May your eyes be open so you can see all the great benefits that you can derive from service to God and to others. Amen!

Beloved, as you continue to serve in God's vineyard, He will surely reward your labour of love and promote you. People will surely see you shine and honour God for your sake.
