We Are Covered

June 16:2018

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
Psalm 91:1-4 (NKJV)

`

Some families keep free-range chickens. The free-range birds lay eggs, incubate them and produce chicks. It is always a thing of joy to see new life emerge. To see chicks finally push through the cracks on their egg shells.

With the new birth, often in multiples – depending on the number of eggs laid- the mother hen is compelled to stretch and cater for each chick. Each has a place of priority. The free range hens and chicks move about in total regard for their unity and support for one another. When there is a perceived danger, the hen fights back. When a chick goes missing, it will cry with its tiny little voice and mother hen will go in search of it. Each hen knows its own chick.

During a storm, the hens will tuck each chick under her wings and keep all secure till the danger is over. These are birds; but think about our Father and how He seeks to cover us under His wings, in time of danger. Like the tiny chick that would cry out for help, are you willing to call your Father to deliver you? When there is danger – snare of the fowler, perilous pestilence and any other hazard life can bring, God is able to defend you.

Beloved, God can never abandon you in a storm. He loves you too much and He is always mindful of you. His thoughts towards you are thoughts of good!

Prayer & Confession of Faith

My Father, cover and shield me with Your presence as I take refuge under Your wings, where no harm can get to me. I know this is Your will for me and an indication of how much You love me. Amen!
