Moving Forward

June 11:2018

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.
Philippians 3:13

One of the things that hinder progress in life is the refusal to let go of past victories or glories. Some people are not able to look beyond what they have achieved to see the greater opportunities ahead of them. They get comfortably trapped in 'the good old days' syndrome.

In today's devotional, we see God changing the dynamics in the lives of the Israelites. Once they had settled on their land and cultivated crops for food a change occurred: Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year (Joshua 5:12). Our past victories are a reminder of God's faithfulness and abilities, but they are also reference points for our faith. They remind us of what He can and will yet do. Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

God our Father is progressive and dynamic in His dealings with us. He has more in store than what we just achieved or attained. He needs us to go forward. Our walk with God must be progressive if we want to enjoy the fullness that He has in store for us. We are not to camp around one miracle when there are many more ahead waiting to manifest.

Beloved, God is about to take you into greater dimensions of His glory. May every hindrance to your experiencing His full measure be removed, in Jesus name!
