Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
James 1:3‬ ‭(NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

The word of God oftentimes personalizes a person's faith. This is because our faith is specific to us as individuals. But the just shall live by his faith (Habakkuk‬ ‭2:4‬b).‬‬ This is not the general faith of accepting Jesus as Lord, but rather, a personal persuasion about something. It is hinged on your rights as a believer. ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

What we are persuaded about differ and our focuses are different each time in life. In the main scriptural text, it is the testing of the believer's faith that produces patience. In order words, that word of God you have believed in, that you hold on to, that you confess always, is what is going to be or is being tested.

For instance, you believe or have faith that you have and live in abundance as a result of the finished work of Christ on the cross, but you still have challenges with your daily needs! It is the persuasion or faith in God's word for your abundance which you have believed that is being tested by the devil. His goal is to get you to give up on your faith, but if you stand your ground and refuse to change your mind about what you have believed, you will learn to wait in thanksgiving and joy. You will get to a point where you refuse to put a timeframe to your waiting.

Beloved, this attitude of patience is offensive to the devil but you are being developed as you hold on to your faith. The mindset to adopt is a determination to wait the devil out!

Lord, I pray that patience will have its perfect work in me; that through it all, I will stand perfect and complete, lacking nothing. Amen.
