OUR PRESENT ADVANTAGE

"But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you."
John 16:5-15 (NKJV)

Jesus made it very clear that the arrival of the Holy Spirit, who was to replace Him on the earth, would be to their advantage in many ways. In other words, He was saying that they would actually be better off with the presence of the Holy Spirit (after His redemptive work) than with His own physical presence; what an amazing statement!

There are two reasons; firstly, whereas Jesus was with them in their locality, the Holy Spirit now dwells in us, thus making it possible for the Godhead to live in our hearts. Secondly, the Holy Spirit is not restricted to a certain geographical location like Jesus was.

We, who are the New Testament post-resurrection saints of God, have a great advantage over all of God’s people who have ever existed, including those who lived with Him and walked with Him during His earthly life and ministry.

Beloved, you have a supernatural advantage in this life! You will soon begin to excel beyond your contemporaries and to exceed them in achievements. Amen!

Prayer & Confession of faith
I have a supernatural advantage in life. I have the Holy Spirit in me. I will excel in all my endeavours and my life and work will bring glory to God. Amen!
