Luke 10

"But that's no life for you. You learned Christ! My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus. Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go. It's rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces His character in you."
Ephesians 4:20-24 (MSG)

The love nature of God is the root of His divine character. In other words, God's consistent habits and ways of behaving are always in step with His immeasurable love motivation. This is useful whenever we try to interpret some scripture verses, particularly in the Old Testament, about some of the recorded actions of God that do not seem to fit our natural human understanding of how a loving God should deal with sinful people.

An important key rule of Bible interpretation is that we must never interpret any scripture in a way that clearly contradicts the love nature of God. We should never forget as we read our bibles that God's motivation is always love; this is true even when we do not yet fully understand why He acted in certain ways.

The authentic love-based character of God can best be described using such words or phrases as “Rich in Mercy”, “Great Giver”, “Faithful”, “Loyal”, “Extravagant”, “Rewarder”, “Purposeful” etc.

The character of God is the only acceptable standard for all Christians. We can have many great human examples that we can learn from, but we must ensure that God, through Christ, remains our only standard. We are to follow our human mentor(s) in spite of their imperfections only as they “follow” Christ; we can't afford to fully imitate them lest we duplicate their mistakes. The only personality that we can afford to imitate unreservedly is God because He is the only perfect one.

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.” - Ephesians 5:1 (NKJV)

Beloved, get into the word of God and start imitating God today; you will surely start to enjoy divine results in your life starting from this year. Amen!

Prayer & Confession of faith
God is my only standard; therefore, I will imitate Him. I have His love nature in me. I exhibit mercy, loyalty, faithfulness, and every characteristic of God. Hallelujah!
