Luke 12

"Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy."
1 Peter 2:6-10 (NKJV)

Brethren, we are not about to obtain mercy from God, we have already (past tense) obtained the fullness of His mercy in Christ. The saints of the Old Covenant cried and prayed regularly and often frantically for God's mercy, and He answered them by sending Jesus to die for the whole world on the cross of Calvary.

The shedding of the perfect blood of Jesus as He hung as our substitute on the cross was the fulfilment of the Old Covenant priestly function in which the high priest would sprinkle the blood of an animal on the Mercy Seat located inside the Ark of the Covenant.

In other words, the redemptive work of Christ was an answer to our prayers and was the complete and total expression of God's mercy towards mankind. Anyone who is in Christ has now obtained the full Mercy of God as a present tense reality. Hallelujah!

The blood of Jesus is now literally speaking about the mercy of God on behalf of all who will believe in His sacrificial work and receive Him as their Lord. We, who are of the New Covenant, no longer cry out in desperation for God's mercy, rather we are to express our appreciation through regular thanksgiving.

Beloved, I pray that you will be ushered into new and greater dimensions of the mercy of God. I prophesy that you are about to experience unprecedented healing, deliverance, protection, provision and prosperity starting from this year. Amen!

Prayer & Confession of faith
I have the fullness of God's mercy in Christ. I will experience unprecedented healing, deliverance, protection, provision and prosperity this year. Amen!
