John 7:1-31

"“And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, "Are You for us or for our adversaries?" So He said, "No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, "What does my Lord say to His servant?" Then the Commander of the LORD'S army said to Joshua, "Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy." And Joshua did so."
Joshua 5:13-15 (NKJV)

God will sometimes show us visions of His angels especially when we are on the verge of a major spiritual battle. The purpose of such a vision would be to remind us that we are not alone in any conflict, be it natural or spiritual.

The result is that we are encouraged right in the middle of our fight of faith; also there is a reinforcement of our confidence and assurance that the eventual outcome will be in our favour.
However it is wrong for anyone to seek spiritual visions of angels as this kind of attitude may expose the person to “familiar spirits” who disguise themselves as angels of light. We should allow God the prerogative of deciding if we need such visitations.

If God never grants you an angelic visitation then you obviously do not need one. The truth is that in God’s word we can find all the encouragement and reassurance that we need to fight any battle without ever having to see visions of angels.

Beloved, the angels of God have already been assigned to assist you, protect you and fight for you against all your adversaries. You will not be defeated! You will not be killed! And you will not fail! Amen.

Prayer & Confession of faith
I have angels all around me and on assignment on my behalf. I will never fail and I will never be defeated! In Jesus name, Amen!
