TRANSFORMED

"Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech— unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."
2 Corinthians 3:12-18 (NKJV)

Being saved and becoming transformed, though connected, are two entirely distinct experiences. For instance, spiritual salvation is a one-time experience, which happens instantly when we believe in Christ's redemptive work and subsequently confess Him as our Lord.

Transformation, on the other hand, is an on-going experience that takes place as our minds are renewed with the word of God, resulting in our maturing in Christ. It is the responsibility of each Christian to position themselves for spiritual transformation by constant meditation on the word of God with particular emphasis on the New Testament scriptures.

The New Testament, unlike the Old, reveals God's new creation in the New Covenant and shows us the New Life that is now possible in Christ. Living this new life, operating in our capacities as New Creations and enjoying the benefits of the New Covenant are possible only to the degree of our spiritual transformation.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” - Romans 12:2 (NKJV)

The Greek word that is translated as “transform” is the word metamorphoo, which means, “to be transfigured”. It carries the idea of an inward change that results in external changes, manifestations and expressions. The more transformed a Christian is, the more their thoughts, words, actions and general behaviour will resemble those of our Lord Jesus.

Beloved, your transformation will be greater this year than in all your previous years as a believer. Amen!

Prayer & Confession of faith
I am being changed inwardly, and thereby outwardly, from day to day as I read and meditate on the word of God. I am becoming more and more like Jesus. Hallelujah!
